Preparation

Procedure

During the procedure, Dr. Hennessy will create a small incision near the buttocks, where a tumescent solution containing epinephrine, saline, and lidocaine will be injected into the targeted area. From there, Dr. Hennessy will insert a small tube called a cannula through the same incision. He will move the cannula back and forth to break up the fat before suctioning it out.

If necessary, Dr. Hennessy may also take fat from another area of the body, purify it, and redistribute it to rebalance or smooth out irregular contours. Once he has sculpted your desired appearance, he will close each incision, and you will be taken to our recovery suite to rest.

Recovery

Because there is no general anesthesia used during the procedure, it only takes approximately one week to recover from your procedure. During this time, you can expect to experience minor swelling, bruising, or general discomfort around the treated areas. These effects are temporary and will gradually subside on their own, and following Dr. Hennessy’s advice will also help. After several days, you will be able to return to work and other light activities, with a full return to physical exercise after a week.
